This 1er Cru comes from one of the oldest districts in Burgundy, north of the city of Beaune. Connoisseurs consider this location to be one of the best with its limestone and gravel soils. The wines age very well and are among the most affordable values ​​in Burgundy. In the past, many white grape varieties (including Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris) were planted here and fermented together with the red wine grapes - which ruined the reputation. But in the last few decades the quality and reliability of the wines has increased enormously. Of course, the Pinot Noir is now being expanded as a single variety. The expressive nose is quite smoky with its layered aromas of pear, apple, kiwi, white flower and soft crisp wisps. The sleek, delicious flavors possess good volume, with lightly stony finish where touch of wood and warmth slowly emerge.

A rare, wonderful (and special single vineyard) rouge from the village of Meursault., known mostly for it's bold, savory white Burgundies. Vineyards with more mineral-rich clay tend to be planted to Pinot Noir here. Aromas of red fruit, baking spices, black cherry, forest floor. Earthy and suave, with fine-grained tannins.

Here too there is just enough wood to notice as it easily allows the pure, cool, airy and elegant red currant fruit, earth, forest floor and humus aromas to shine. Once again there is fine volume to the vibrant middle weight flavors that culminate in a rustic and serious finish. This frank and bold effort isn't refined but it is balanced

Subtle but not invisible wood influence sets off the spicy aromas of plum, black cherry and freshly turned earth. There is good minerality to the more finely textured medium weight flavors that are shaped by slightly finer-grained tannins though the finish is again noticeably warm.
